BiztechAfrica reports that Tanzanian broadband wireless start-up Smile Communications has extended its 4G time division (TD) LTE services to the town of Arusha, taking high speed mobile internet to the region. The expansion follows the launch of 4G wireless broadband access in Dar es Salaam in May this year. Smile says that 4G broadband will be rolled out in phases ‘across Tanzania over the next two years’, while claiming that its new network promises an average speed of 6Mbps download and ’2Mbps at cell edge’.
