The Swaziland Communications Commission (SCCOM) is planning to introduce a compulsory pre-paid SIM registration scheme, according to CEO Mvilawemphi Dlamini. The Observer quoted the official as saying: ‘We have been working behind the scenes for quite some time now, but we will be launching the project shortly and everyone will be expected to register their SIM cards.’ He said mobile operators who fail to comply with the new directive will be fined.
