Today (26 March 2019) Angola’s second largest mobile operator Movicel is scheduled to sign a partnership agreement with UK-based multinational cellular giant Vodafone Group. Few early details of the deal emerged, but according to news sites including Mercado and Menosfios – citing Vodafone’s local subsidiary Vodacom Business Angola – the agreement will be non-equity-based and will be aimed at improving Movicel’s technical, commercial and marketing capabilities.
Vodafone Group has over 40 strategic ‘partner market’ non-equity agreements in place with network operators around the world.
