MTN Nigeria, the country’s largest mobile operator by subscribers, plans to invest around USD1.6 billion in its operations and networks over the next three years. The development was revealed by President and CEO of MTN Group, Rob Shuter, during a meeting with Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami.
As previously reported by TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate, earlier this month Nigeria’s Attorney General dropped a USD2 billion tax demand against MTN Nigeria, paving the way for an end to a legal battle between the parties. MTN said it will withdraw its legal action and engage with the authorities on the issue.
