The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has announced a 5.3% increase in spectrum and general licence fees, effective 1 April. The unit price for MHz of paired spectrum will reach ZAR2,344 (USD201), while levies to apply for the amendment or transfer of service licences will increase from ZAR57,873 to ZAR60,940. Licence renewals will cost ZAR6,094 (ZAR5,787 previously).
