MTN South Africa is reportedly in talks with Telkom South Africa regarding an infrastructure sharing arrangement for the two companies’ mobile units, two people familiar with the matter have told Bloomberg. Rumours over Telkom’s future have been swirling around for some time, and last month local media reports suggested that MTN was putting together a takeover deal for Telkom Mobile, which has enjoyed limited success since launching in October 2010.
