Orange Cote d’Ivoire is suspending its rollout of fibre-optic broadband infrastructure in the capital, Abidjan, following a spate of vandalism which has hit its networks and caused outages for customers. A report from Agence Ecofin says the telco has called a temporary halt to its work while authorities investigate the attacks. In April this year a fire was started at an Orange technical centre in Abidjan, while the telco reported at least seven acts of vandalism on its fibre networks during April and May.
