Telkom has launched two new ADSL offerings, including a new service which is cheaper than anything South Africa has seen before.
Telkom Wholesale has launched two additional speed offerings which will form part of the existing Resell DSL product portfolio – 1Mbps and 8Mbps.
“The evolution of the Telkom network is ongoing, and the impact of our deployed infrastructure has done much to grow the adoption of broadband in South Africa,” said Telkom.
Telkom said that by providing more flexible bandwidth offerings, it aims to increase connectivity and create a connected, digital nation.
Retail pricing for Telkom’s new 1Mbps and 8Mbps ADSL services has not been announced, but wholesale prices (Ex VAT) are below R50 and R300 respectively.
It should be noted that these prices relate to the per-month price of DSL access only. Subscribers will still need to add analogue line rental and ADSL data for a full service.
“Telkom Wholesale assures you that we are intent on improving the quality of our fixed broadband product offering, and enhancing the customer experience of broadband offerings,” the company said.
